Yohji Yamamoto Delivers Premium adidas Matchcourt Low Model
A high-end makeover.

adidas‘s classic Matchcourt tennis sneaker receives a premium redux courtesy of avant-garde forerunner Yohji Yamamoto.
Like the “Takusan” and Trail Boot silhouettes, the collaborative kicks aren’t related to the ongoing Y-3 line, but are part of Yamamoto’s mainline range. The ordinarily trim model receives a hefty suede and beefed-up rubber sole for extra wintertime grip, with premium black leather and canvas on the upper complementing the elevated detailing below. Two iterations offer slightly different colorways; one is all-black save for the contrasting Yamamoto signature towards the rear, while the other features a tonal signature and contrasting beige suede midsole, while the uppers and laces remain the same.
Look for the sneakers at Yamamoto retailers for ¥ 55,000 JPY (approximately $500 USD).
Meanwhile, Y-3 continues rolling out new sneaker silhouettes, ranging from the Saikou in “Core White” to the new Kusari II.
