Mahershala Ali Shines in 'True Detective' Season 3 Teaser
Set in the Ozarks.
HBO has just released the first teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated third season of True Detective, which stars Academy Award Winner Mahershala Ali as detective Wayne Hays.
In the one-minute clip posted above, Hays, seen at three different ages, is still clearly haunted by a case from his past. “Before you ever knew me, I wasn’t scared much. That wasn’t a fear for me. Things I’ve seen, things I know, wouldn’t do anything but cause harm. My whole brain’s a bunch of missing pieces,” he says in the voiceover for the trailer. “My job…. there’s no certainty. This peace… is more haunting than anything. I want to know the whole story,” he continues. The story will take place in the Ozarks, an area that spans four different states: Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
Along with Ali playing the main role, the new season also stars Mamie Gummer, Stephen Dorff and Carmen Ejogo. Season 3 of True Detective is scheduled to release on HBO January 13, 2019.
