HBX drops the latest visuals to its Off-White™ collection release. The Virgil Abloh-lead collection for Fall/Winter 2018 is titled “Business Casual” and is a nod towards the early days of the designer, and how his idea of being a successful professional encompassed having a “white picket fence and a dog” along with “carrying a briefcase.” Fast forward to today, and this collection is a testament to what changes the definition of “Successful” has gone through.
This collection maintains Abloh’s signature use of quotations in the form of “PRODUCT TESTING,” “OUTDOOR USE ONLY,” and “DOWN JACKET.” As this is a Fall/Winter release, a focus on warmer garments is apparent, giving shape to the Reconstr Camo Field Jacket, classic Denim Jacket, Varsity Jacket, Arrow Scarf, and a slew of crewnecks and hoodies. Standout details to this collection are the GORE-TEX fabric items (complete with the GORE-TEX U.S. patent number worked in as a graphic), and a thematic “Gradient” color palette that is applied to existing logos — going from blue, purple, magenta, and then finally black.
