Crocs Closes Its Last Two Remaining Manufacturing Plants

Many fans of Crocs are speculating troubling times ahead after news broke that the foam-clog footwear brand would be selling off its last two factories. Despite the recent viral push with the help of Balenciaga and its 10cm-tall version, declining sales have forced the brand to close at least 160 stores as of last year, and to shift focus to online retail and wholesale.

In a statement to Fast Company, a representative addressed some of the concerns by stating “As we streamline our business to meet growing demand for Crocs, we’re simply shifting production to third parties to increase our manufacturing capacity.” Although there are plenty out there that probably wish Crocs would just go away, the internet proved that there is still an even greater number that swears by the porous, lightweight clog.
