The First Week Sales Projections for Nicki Minaj's 'Queen' Have Arrived
The weakest debut of her career.
Last week, Nicki Minaj released her long-awaited follow-up to 2014’s The Pinkprint, Queen. Now, Hits Daily Double has revealed the sales projections for Queen‘s first week on the Billboard 200 chart.
Nicki Minaj’s new album is expected to move between 135,000 to 150,000 equivalent units in its first week of sales; 45,000 to 55,000 of those are defined as “pure album sales.” If the numbers end up becoming concrete, that will mean Queen will become the lowest-performing debut of Nicki Minaj’s four-album career. Her previous LP, The Pinkprint, picked up 244,000 in its first week. For the previous week, Travis Scott’s ASTROWORLD dominated the charts by moving 537,000 equivalent album units over its first seven days.
You can head on over to Hits Daily Double for the full breakdown.
Earlier this week, Nicki Minaj promoted and supported Queen with the release of the official music video for the project’s opening track, “Ganja Burn.”
