MIDIUMISOLID FW18 Takes a Painterly Approach to Maximalism
Rich textures, unique textiles and billowy silhouettes.
Following the brand’s Spring/Summer 2018 drop, MIDIUMISOLID returns for Fall/Winter 2018. Produced by Mother’s Industry director Nobuaki Sasano and TAAKK designer Morikawa Tsubuseno, the collection centers around bold outerwear and slouchy trousers, with statement pieces elevating a variety of otherwise low key looks. Bold patterns, shiny metallics and oversized denim appear throughout the range, with muted basic items allowing the louder layering piece to take center stage. Furry knitwear adds textural intrigue to the collection, joined by crinkled wool, plastic-abetted fleece jacquard knit patterns and iridescent houndstooth. A whiff of sportswear surfaces here and there, with painted running sneakers and wide track jackets accenting quiet cardigans and unfettered white shirts.
Expect the new goods to hit store shelves in Japan within a few weeks.
