Helmut Lang Prepares Bondage-Inspired Re-Edition Collection
Curated by Byronesque.

Helmut Lang is no stranger to digging into its own archives, and it continues reviving classic designs with the latest Re-Edition collection. This third release is a collaboration with Helmut Lang experts Byronesque, showcasing some key pieces from past seasons. Though the focus is on womenswear, several items are from the men’s collections, or close enough to be unisex, like a revision of the 1994 “Backstage” printed tee and the iconic bulletproof vest from 1997. Distinctly feminine items include the strappy Aviator Skirt from 2003 and ’97’s split-hem Bondage Tank, each offering plenty of adjustable straps. More austere pieces include a turtleneck v-strap from 2004, slim-fit turn-up trousers from 1995, while a metallic-hued, rubberband wallet from ‘04 takes its place as the drop’s sole accessory.
