Waiting List For Porsche's First Fully-Electric Tesla Rival Grows
Set to hit the streets in 2020.

Originally unveiled as its Concept E project, Porsche‘s upcoming Taycan model is now beginning to shake up the automobile industry as the latest potential Tesla rival.
Despite production starting in 2019 and a slated 2020 release, the waiting list for first dibs on the German performance car manufacture’s first fully-electric vehicle is beginning to grow. With pricing to start around $75,000 USD, the Taycan is set to produce over 600 horsepower, accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 3.5 seconds and have an expected range of over 300 miles. The Taycan will also have a long list of driver-assistance features like an autonomous mode and a digital instrument panel with a holographic display to compete against Tesla’s Model S sedan.
Already developing an 800-volt charger that can charge a vehicle to 80 percent in 20 minutes, by the end of 2019 Porsche aims to install over 10,000 fast-chargers around the world. Porsche’s electric push comes with a plan to invest $7 billion USD into vehicle development and related technology by 2022.
