Here Are All the Samples on Drake's 'Scorpion' Album
The borrowed cuts that make up the record-breaking project.
Amidst controversy and scandal, Drake recently dropped his fifth studio album Scorpion which has successfully been making waves throughout the music industry. Serving somewhat as an answer to questions surrounding the Canadian artist, the double-disc LP really proved his artistry, dominating streaming platforms in every way imaginable.
Offering a look at every single sample featured on Scorpion, the creatives at Bandstand recently put together a video highlighting the eclectic array of music Drake drew from. Unexpectedly the 25-track project took influences from a wide array of musical genres, which were repurposed by executive producers Noah “40” Shebib and Oliver El-Khatib to fit the sonic vision of the album.
Everything from smooth R&B sounds from Boyz II Men to progressive sounds of German electronic artist Claude Larson were chopped up into the design of songs like “March 14” and “Survival.” Some more interesting samples include a take from Nicki Minaj‘s 2014 “Boss Ass Bitch” performance at the Powerhouse on “That’s How You Feel” and Plies infamous “I can’t arguh…” video clip on “8 Out Of 10.”
