Elusive rapper Appleby has shared a string of consistently killer material over the last year, culminating in his acclaimed four-track EP Down Dance back in April. Now, the faceless emcee has joined the list of artists involved in creative company and record label bitbird‘s Gouldian Finch Compilationa set of four tracks contributed by owner San Holo, Taska Black, DROELOE, Vinzere and more. “How Many” sees Appleby join forces with British singer-songwriter Ayelle and emerging LA producer Rami Beatz, allowing him to flex his unique charismatic flow until Ayelle interjects to provide a sweet balance with her serene tone. Appleby had this to say about the meaning and significance behind “How Many”:

“A no one with lonely dreams to share. How terribly depressing these happy thoughts of mine are. Creating beautiful pieces from the darkness in me.”

The full Gouldian Finch Compilation will be available from July 15. Stream “How Many” below.
