Daniel Radcliffe Is a Phony White Supremacist in 'Imperium'
Will he be able to pull it off?
Daniel Radcliffe is slowly, but surely getting folks to deviate their perspective of him as the boy wizard who saved Hogwarts. The 26-year-old actor played the role of a tech villain in Now You See Me 2, a flatulent corpse in Swiss Army Man and now, an undercover skinhead in the upcoming thriller, Imperium. The film, which is based on a true story, shows Radcliffe as an undercover FBI agent who must seek out and expose the surreptitious schemes of a radical right-wing terrorist organization.
The real-life agent, Michael German spent more than 10 years of his life working for the FBI—frequenting undercover missions in the white supremacist militias and even managed to disrupt a vicious attack from happening against an African American church. German is said to have worked with the film’s director, Daniel Ragussis, to bring a sense of realism to the film by imbuing his actual experiences.
All in all, the movie will surely be as thought-provoking as it is action-packed. Imperium is slated to hit theaters on August 19, check out the trailer above.
