YG's Reaction to the Troy Ave Shooting Might Surprise You
“Half of this sh*t is entertainment for some people. This is real stuff we go through everyday.”
Yesterday, it was revealed that Troy Ave was officially being charged with one charge of attempted murder and two felony weapons charges for his alleged role in the May shooting at Irving Plaza. Currently on the road for a promotional media run in support of his anticipated next album Still Brazy, YG stopped by DJ Self’s program for Power 105.1 for an interview and had a few words to share regarding the now-infamous incident. Responding to Troy Ave’s current situation, YG explained:
“It’s sad… Troy, that’s my dude, you feel me… I don’t even want to say what I really want to say on air. I dunno bro, because I feel like this: if I got popped, I would have done the same thing. I would have made my way out that joint, period. And that just go for anybody else, that’s just reaction. Protocol… It come with the rap game and the streets.”
He also his own opinion regarding the bombardment of the survelliance video on social media, saying:
“That’s snitching… You putting it up there so the world to see it, and with that might come consequences. Jail time, you gonna get somebody caught up like that. But everybody ain’t from the streets, so everybody ain’t thinking like that. Half of this sh*t is entertainment for some people. This is real stuff we go through everyday.”
Just last week, YG also shared the tracklist for his upcoming project.
