Steve Carell Combats PTSD with Toys in 'Welcome to Marwen' Trailer
Inspired by a true story.
In The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Steve Carell‘s character sold all of his toys to get married. This time around, however, his character’s toys are a vehicle for an artist to tell his story in Welcome to Marwen. In the trailer above, we are introduced to Carell’s Mark Hogancamp, an artist using his miniature figures to overcome a traumatic experience, similar to Hereditary.
After suffering brain damage from being assaulted by five Neo-Nazi men, Hogancamp begins building his life back together with what little memory he has left of his life, crafting toys of himself and friends set in a World War II village. His attackers are made into Nazis and he declares a trial for their crimes.
Welcome to Marwen stars Leslie Mann, Gwendoline Christie, and Janelle Monáe. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, expect the film to drop on November 21, but for now, check out the latest trailer for Ozark season 2.
