Oculus TV Is a 180-Inch Portal for Your Virtual Headset
An immersive streaming app for your VR device.
Oculus has launched its dedicated hub for watching flatscreen visuals on the Oculus Go headset called Oculus TV. The app displays a virtual home theater with a 180-inch TV screen, offering access to several free and subscription-based streaming services alike such as Showtime, Pluto TV, and of course, Facebook. Each platform features its own form of VR-based video.
Other well-known streaming platforms like Netflix and Hulu are supported already, but they don’t merge on the hub and instead just launch within Oculus Go. However, YouTube isn’t supported, and only accessible through Steam or the VR web browser on the headset. More services are set to join in the near future.
