Nike Poised to Give the Air Max 97/BW a General Release

The hybrid silhouette steps out from Skepta’s shadow.

After being championed by London-based MC Skepta with the mismatched design earlier this year, Nike is set to give its hybrid Air Max 97 / BW silhouette a general release. The sneaker features the upper of the Air Max BW, which sits atop a full-length Air Max 97 air unit.

For the first general release, the sneaker is wrapped in a classic triple-black colorway which is reminscent of Skepta’s first joint Nike shoe from 2016. The black design is complimented by subtle shine detailing on the side panels and the use of a 3M stripe around the sneaker. As it stands, there is no official release date but the Nike Air Max 97 / BW is believed to be dropping this summer.

A potential first look at Skepta’s next Nike collaboration also recently surfaced.
