Y/Project Revamps the Suit in Spring/Summer 2019 Collection

Y/Project, the work of Glenn Martens, has recently showcased its SS19 collection as part of Paris Fashion Week. Last season saw the brand revamp, of all things, Ugg boots and this time its turned its attention to a similarly unloved but not quite as maligned piece — the suit.
There’s been much chatter about how the millennial of today prefers the hoodie over the suit but the success of brands such as Abasi Rosborough showcase that consumers are actually looking for the most classic of menswear pieces to receive an update.
Y/Project did just that in SS19, playing with proportions in subtle but noticeable ways to create pieces that upgrade the suit whilst being unmistakably a creation of Martens.
