Maison Margiela's Glue-Covered Fusion Sneaker Receives New Colorway
Extremely distressed.

After surfacing in muted tones earlier this month, Maison Margiela‘s Fusion Sneaker reappears in eye-grabbing green and yellow hues. The handmade sneaker showcases drastic deconstruction, offering a heavy dose of translucent glue at the midsole, dripping onto the outsole. Patchwork detailing on the upper mashes up various running sneaker tropes, like mesh, shiny plastic and layered grain leather, undercut by stripped-away panels and gauzy tape. Black and white laces weave haphazardly through the tongue, while white paint on the midsole is chipped away to reveal the black base underneath.
The striking new colorway is available for an eye-popping $1,645 USD from Saks Fifth Avenue’s web store.
Recently, the fashion house showcased its first-ever couture menswear collection.
