Father of Michael Jackson, Joe Jackson, Dies at 89
Rest in peace to the patriarch of pop’s most famous family.
Joe Jackson, the father of 11 and patriarch of the Jackson dynasty, has reportedly died at the age of 89. According to reports, the legendary music manager had been battling terminal pancreatic cancer over the past few months and ironically, passed away just two days after the anniversary of his son Michael Jackson’s death nine years ago. Jackson leaves behind his wife Katherine Jackson, and their 10 kids.
Joe Jackson was the architect behind his children’s early successes – most notably The Jackson 5, Michael Jackson, and Janet Jackson whose contributions to the history of music are enormous. Meanwhile, a Michael Jackson musical will be coming to Broadway in 2020.
