Hackers Are Tricking People Into Downloading Fake Versions of 'Fortnite' for Android
Promising a “leaked” version of the upcoming port from Epic Games.

Fortnite: Battle Royale has hackers and malware authors taking advantage of the game’s huge popularity by tricking would-be players into downloading fake versions of the Android port. With an upcoming Android port coming officially from Epic Games this summer, advertisements of a “leaked” version of the title has begun appearing on YouTube and multiple search engines promising the Android port ahead of its official release.
The fake apps use several images and loading screens found in the iOS port to lure gamers in before it redirects users to a browser saying more apps need to be downloaded before they can play their game. No matter how many apps you download though, the game will never unlock. The fake app is not hosted in the Google Play Store, and players should be wary of any app that isn’t.
