$750K USD of Fake Sneakers & Goods Seized in Philippines
Cracking down on counterfeits.
The Ninoy Aquino International Airport in the Philippines recently seized approximately $750,000 USD-worth of counterfeit paraphernalia, including some recognizable sneakers. In social media posts, the Bureau of Customs uploaded imagery of agents stacking up piles of knock-off shoes snatched from Balikbayan boxes — packages sent home from overseas Filipinos. Fake footwear included the adidas YEEZY Powerphase, Fear of God x Vans, atmos x Nike Air Max 1, Pharrell x adidas NMD Hu and Sean Wotherspoon’s Nike Air Max 1/97.
Reportedly, the “collector’s item branded shoes” will be auctioned off or donated to the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Take a look at the customs agents at work below.
