Following the label’s recent Fall/Winter 2018 lookbook, CURLY returns with more effortless Japanese style for Spring/Summer 2019. Riffing off of the brand’s preferred layering motifs — long sleeves under short sleeves, hoodies over extended tees and wide-sleeved outerwear — the new collection offers a host of elevated wardrobe essentials blended with accessible statement pieces.

With all fabrics crafted in local factories to CURLY’s exact specifications, the collection’s craftsmanship shines through. A host of colorful accents inform several key layers, like yellow shirts and cropped red hoodies, which contrast neatly against the selection’s muted neutrals, while tie-dyed tees and shirts take the visual appeal a step further. Slim, cropped pants reaffirm the range’s contemporary bent, elevating the various patchwork outerwear that recalls CURLY’s Japanese heritage without veering too far into deconstructed excess. To combat summer rain, a selection of ponchos and hooded jackets feature water-resistant cotton that grants wearers the ability to simultaneously beat the heat and the drizzle.

Look for the new range to hit stockists like Collect Store’s site early next year.

Meanwhile at Pitti Uomo, ex-COMME des GARÇONS pattern cutter Fumito Ganryu unveiled his brand new eponymous label.
