'Fortnite' Has Been Downloaded on the Nintendo Switch More Than 2 Million Times
And counting…

Fortnite was recently announced for the Nintendo Switch, dropping the very same day. 24 hours later, it has since gone to be downloaded 2 million times and counting on the home console’s eShop. Despite being blocked from cross play on Sony’s PlayStation 4, the game is available on all platforms and can be played alongside other console versions of the game from the Switch.
Reggie Fils-Aime, president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America, spoke to Polygon about the success, stating:
“Fortnite’s launch went extremely well — we had more than 2 million downloads in less than 24 hours. I think that speaks to the power of the franchise, the engagement of our players and the resonance of being able to play it anytime, anywhere.”
