California-based ticket service Ticketmaster has admitted that the site suffered a huge data breach, with up to 40,000 users at risk of having their data leaked. According to the statement, the breach only affected the company’s UK customers, with North America being unaffected by the hack.
In a statement released via Twitter, Ticketmaster revealed that the breach occurred due to “malicious software” hosted by an “external third-party supplier to Ticketmaster.” The company also admitted that the data could include both personal and payment information on the users.
