UPDATE: Virgil Abloh confirms that the “UNC” AJ1 pair are his “For Red Carpet Shoes.” See his IG post below.

After much speculation over the past few months, Virgil Abloh himself has officially teased a preview of the upcoming Nike Air Jordan 1 in blue and white. The pair is also being dubbed “UNC” as it refers to the colors of the University of Carolina uniforms, the college Michael Jordan played for.

Another interesting detail about this video is that Virgil actually geotags New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Could it be that he will be rocking the pair for the 2018 Met Gala alongside his Louis Vuitton pieces that came from the brand’s atelier? We’ll all just have to wait and see tonight. In the meantime, fans can now officially put the rumors to rest in reference to the “UNC” AJ1s. While there’s no hard date yet on a release, the date heard around the internet is June 9 with a $190 USD price tag.

If you’re on the lookout for other Jordan Brand kicks, consider the upcoming 14’s dubbed the “Last Shot.”
