London-based label Tourne de Transmission recently headed to Malaysia to showcase its Spring/Summer 2019 collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Kuala Lumpur. The collection, titled “Turn Off All Devices,” builds on Tourne de Transmission’s political themes and mixes references to modern technology with influences from ancient history, including the Lycian Empire in modern-day Turkey.
The ancient Turkish influence is referenced through the use of traditional Haman towels — which have been made into shirts — and patterned rugs that have been used to create coach jackets. Modern touches in the collection include the label’s familiar theme of deconstructed tailoring, and the use of PVC on outerwear pieces. Take a backstage look at the collection in the gallery above, and keep an eye out for more news ahead of its release.
