A blend of streetwear and technical aesthetics.

A few weeks ago, The North Face Urban Exploration introduced a range of unconventional outerwear for the latest Black Series collection. Now, the sub-brand adds to the Black Series’ Spring/Summer 2018 lineup with a new Sashiko menswear capsule.

For The North Face Urban Exploration’s “Sashiko” capsule, the designers — led by creative architect Ogawa Koji — take their inspiration from the long, storied lineage of Japanese craftsmanship and manufacturing. Specifically, consumers can expect an eight-item collection influenced by “traditional folk techniques,” modern design and the pillars of the Urban Exploration’s artistic ethos, which revolves around creating well-constructed and fashionable pieces that blend streetwear aesthetics and technical functionality. Standout selections: the 100% cotton Kimono Jacket, “Shelter”-themed cotton-blend Cardigan and Tracksuit Jacket.

You can take a look at the new The North Face Urban Exploration “Sashiko” capsule collection above. The items are currently available at select retailers.

Back in March, The North Face Urban Exploration added the aluminum Tyvek collection to the Black Series.
