LA-based producer duo DJDS, formerly known as DJ Dodgers Stadium, are gearing up to release their forthcoming project, Big Wave More Fire on May 18 via Loma Vista Recordings. Today, they premiere their newest single, “I Heard,” which features guest appearances from The-Dream and Vory. Over moody production, The-Dream and Vory blend their sound magically, creating a dark record that is creepy in the best way possible.

“The whole thing started as a freestyle that we did, I was kind of freestyling some of those melodies that you hear in the beginning and Jerome was putting in the drums,” said Sam Grieseme of DJDS to Zane Lowe on the host’s Beats 1 radio show. “We brought it over the Vory and both of his verses he freestyled right away. We were like man this is really cool…but we knew we wanted the hook as dark as possible.”

DJDS and The-Dream previously worked with each other in the past — most recently on Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo intro, “Ultralight Beam.”

Big Wave More Fire will feature appearances from Vic Mensa, Charlie Wilson, Amber Mark, Empress Of, Vory, Kacy Hill, and more. The previous singles were “Trees On Fire,” “Why Don’t You Come On,” and “No Pain.”
