Matrix Vibes Dominated Mercedes-Benz Tbilisi Fashion Week FW18 Street Style
Eastern European fit-off.
Our latest street style offering hails all the way from Georgia – the country located in the Caucus region of Eurasia, not the southern American state. Snapped during its capital’s biannual fashion parade, Mercedes-Benz Tbilisi Fashion Week, the event’s Fall/Winter 2018 iteration welcomed a broad swath of fashion-forward attendees dressed in a rotation of fire fits.
The world’s most famous Georgian designer, Demna Gvasalia, didn’t attend the five-day-long event, but his most popular Balenciaga design, the Triple S sneaker, was ever present. In line with Georgia’s post-Soviet roots, attendees also sported eye-catching Gosha Rubchinskiy pieces, including T-shirts, jackets and scarves, all emblazoned with the Muscovite’s signature Cyrillic branding. The 80-degree weather didn’t stop guests from layering up with oversized blazers and sporty jackets, though some preferred to keep cool with functional athletic gear, like Nike compression tops and adidas track pants. Elsewhere, statement clothing from Gucci and Supreme x Lacoste complemented graphic prints that ranged from playful phrases to bold branding.
