Meek Mill Addresses Nicki Minaj's Comments About His Trial
He’s also making new music.
Meek Mill, who was released from prison after serving nearly six months for a probation violation, was a recent guest on Power 105’s The Breakfast Club. DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God and Meek sat down to discuss a number of topics such as his imprisonment, criminal justice reform and his ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj‘s comments to Zane Lowe about the trail.
If you remember back in March, Nicki was asked by Lowe about her thoughts on Genece Brinkley, the embattled judge who’s overseeing Meek’s case. She told Lowe, “I will say now that the judge in question did everything I asked of her. And you know, so I can’t bad mouth her because I met her personally. I know what she said to us and he knows that and I know that. But of course, I wouldn’t wish that — I wouldn’t wish jail on anybody.”
The Philly native didn’t like what Nicki had to say. “I wasn’t feeling that,” Mill said of the comment. “She shouldn’t had said nothing. And we leave it at that. I don’t feel no way. She knows I wasn’t feeling that.”
He’s also shared that he’s working on new music. “I’m representing a cause, I got a purpose for something but still, at the same time, I gotta be Meek Mill,” he told the show. “I tell people, my music, I might start talking hurt. I might talk anger. Like, when 2Pac was like, ‘America eat its babies.’ Y’all gonna make me go crazy . . . It’s them thoughts still deep inside because you’ve got to be angry if you were sent to prison four or five times.”
