'Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate' Is Coming to Nintendo Switch This Summer
“[A] nostalgic look back at the series’ beginnings and evolutions.”
Capcom has announced a Nintendo Switch version of Monster Hunter XX, retitled Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, which will update the 2016 3DS title for the flagship console. The game offers local and online multiplayer for up to four gamers simultaneously.
The title will keep the unique gameplay, quests, and weaponry intact from the original release, with the addition of two new hunting styles (Alchemy and Valor), a supplementary Elder Dragon, and a new endgame boss. Save data from the original Monster Hunter Generations can be transferred to the Ultimate edition as well.
Capcom describes the title as such:
Hunters can face off against the series’ largest roster of unique monsters in this nostalgic look back at the series’ beginnings and evolutions. Take on the role of a brave hunter on an adrenaline-fueled adventure challenging larger-than-life beasts. Completing quests will yield valuable resources for crafting countless distinct weapons and equipment fashioned after players’ defeated foes. Along their journey, hunters must defend each of the game’s four villages from major threats known as the Fated Four, plus an even more dangerous new Elder Dragon.
Expect to see more from this title at E3 2018, and purchase the game when it drops August 28.
