Jorja Smith Speaks Out Against Police Brutality in New "Blue Lights" Video
“If you’ve done nothing wrong, blue lights should just pass you by.”
Although not making an appearance in the video itself, Jorja Smith‘s “Blue Light” showcases her story with her somber tones and black and white visuals. Directed by Oliva Rose, the video showcase’s Smith’s hometown of Walsall, England, where shots of her as a child, her father, and her first performance location, a local restaurant, are shared throughout the duration.
The video also displays local Walsall heroes like Mist and Jaykae, as well as producer Preditah — portraying them in a positive light, contrary to how police may see them. Check out the video above and look out for Jorja Smith’s upcoming debut album Lost & Found on June 8.
