Gooseberry Design Introduces the I-House
An I-shaped home with a natural view in every room.
Gooseberry Design showcases its new I-House architectural design in Samut Prakan, Thailand. Located in a limited area within the highly-dense residential neighborhood, the house is designed in an I-shape with a central courtyard inspired by traditional Thai homes. The courtyard serves as living quarters, further integrating the structure’s relationship of public and private function.
In fact, every room purposely has a natural view, to further enhance the house’s tranquility. The architect decided to apply a vertical green facade to its brick pattern to protect the structure from sunlight, due to the location’s tropical climates. Heat from the sun is even ventilated through the courtyard towards the residence’s comfort zone due to its facade system.
