Feng Chen Wang Pays Tribute to Six Classic Jeans for Levi's 501 Collaboration
The end result: a “sartorial biography” of the style.
Talented Chinese designer Feng Chen Wang has linked up with Levi’s for a new collaborative effort.
Setting their sights on the iconic Levi’s 501, the pairing of Wang and Levi’s have created a joint collection that honors the form and functionality of six past models. Specifically, the original 501 from 1873, the 1933 Cowboy job, the 1937 Red Tab jean, the 1944 World War 2 jean, the Post-WWII 1947 jean and the 1954 zipper jean were mined for inspiration. Wang even took a trip to the Levi’s archive in San Francisco to learn how each one connected different audiences. Using that knowledge, Wang set out to produce products that serve as “sartorial biographies” of the 501.
