Football kits are all the rage in streetwear right now and Acne Studios is the latest label to join the sartorial league alongside Gosha Rubchinskiy, KITH, Alexander Wang and more. Releasing just in time for the World Cup, the Acne Studios Fotbollsklubb collection is a reflection of Creative Director Jonny Johansson’s long-standing love of football, as well as an homage to the new Acne Studios office in Stockholm, referenced by the “Floragatan Football Club” print.
The unisex range takes on retro ’60s/’70s styling with a classic Acne Studio color palette of muted neutrals and soft pastels. Traditional football kit details such as team numbers, league crests and sponsorship labels are tweaked slightly and expressed via the label’s signature emoji logo. The collection garments, which includes T-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants and knit beanies and fan scarves, are made of technical fabrics intended for active wear.
