Snoop Dogg Explains Classic Hockey Slang & Rules for the NHL Playoffs
A diehard fan.
With the NHL Playoffs well underway, the league has enlisted rapper and cultural icon Snoop Dogg to break down the sports’ classic terms and rules.
In the first video of series titled “Hockey 101 with Snoop Dogg,” Snoop gets into the history of the Stanley Cup and also breaks down the Cup’s traditions and superstitions. In the latest episode, which can be viewed above, Snoop defines hockey slang for the casual fans.
Earlier this month, NHL’s executive vice president Steve Mayer told Deadline:
“One of the things we noticed when Snoop came to our All-Star game a couple years ago in Los Angeles was not only is he Snoop and everybody loves him, but he really loves hockey. The first thing he said when we walked into the East locker room was, ‘Sid the Kid!’ He knows the players, he knows the game, and we started talking back then about how he feels like he can help promote the game.”
