Alexander McQueen Documentary to Offer an Inside Look at the Designer's Genius
“No one discovered Alexander McQueen; McQueen discovered himself.”
While director Andrew Haigh’s Alexander McQueen biopic — reportedly starring Jack O’Connell — has yet to see the light of day, fans of the late designer’s genius will soon be treated to an inside look at McQueen’s life by way of a brand new documentary. Simply entitled McQueen, the film will take a look at the London native’s meteoric rise and tragic fall while featuring insights from those closest to him. “McQueen offers a vivid portrait of the tortured but inspired auteur’s work and persona,” says the film’s official synopsis.
McQueen is slated to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 22 before coming to Picturehouse Central in London on June 8.
In other film-related McQueen news, The Ripper, a movie exploring McQueen and Blow’s tumultuous relationship, is currently in the works as well.
