UPDATE: Twitter Suspends Yeezy Mafia Account, Yeezy Mafia Responds
The brand’s account has disappeared from the platform.
UPDATE: Yeezy Mafia has taken to their backup Twitter account, YM Backup and Instagram to post a statement about why they were taken down. The whole thing involves “copyright infringement” on pictures posted of Kim in her SEASON 6 outfits. They also say that “someone” hired a company from LA specializing in celebrity image protection to sift through Yeezy Mafia’s archives. Read the full statement below from the post:
Twitter has suspended the account of infamous leakers, Yeezy Mafia. The platform lost its blue approval checkmark after Kim Kardashian West accused the group of sharing false information and said she’d made calls to shut down the account. West’s tweets were made on March 6 and now, more than a month later, the account has been suspended.
What has also changed in that time is that Kanye West also reactivated his Twitter account, which may have had something to do with the suspension. Yeezy Mafia is still active on Instagram, where they alluded to the issues in an Instagram story pointing out to their “backup Twitter account while we sort things out.”
In related news, the YEEZY Season 6 Desert Rat boot is now available to buy.
Oh I’ve made calls…just wait https://t.co/WhuqHBGAGU
