The L20 House is a Peaceful Oasis in Rural Spain
Framing a central garden and swimming pool.
For the L20 House on the island of Mallorca, Spanish architecture firm OLARQ Osvaldo Luppi was tasked with designing a building that would frame the square plot’s garden. To do this, the architects created two wings that block out the outside world while opening out on to the interior of the space. The focus on privacy and luxury is similar to another recent OLARQ Osvaldo Luppi project, the M3 House.
The main entrance opens into a single-story space that also feature the living room and master bedroom. All of these rooms open to the large garden, which is organized into terraces and platforms which lead to the pool. This wing is linked to a second section of the house — which contains the kitchen and dining room — with a double-height space. By blocking out the world outside the plot and focusing on the garden and pool, OLARQ Osvaldo Luppi has created a peaceful oasis.
