Houseplant by Droplet has introduced The House Scent Reed Diffuser, translating a bespoke fragrance Seth Rogen developed during a scent-making experience in Grasse into a home format. The release marks the second team-up between Rogen’s lifestyle brand and the Modern British fragrance house Droplet, and it puts the emphasis squarely on what goes into the bottle.
At the center of the diffuser is a four-part composition. Bright pink pepper and delicate peony sit up top, while warm santal and rich pine anchor the base, giving the blend its balance of crisp woodland, soft floral and warm woody character. The result is a fragrance the brands describe as fresh, calm and inviting, tuned to make a room read as home rather than as a showroom.
The scent began as a personal project. Rogen built the original during an immersive fragrance-making session in Grasse, the French town regarded as the world’s fragrance capital, before Droplet crafted and bottled it for release. “Making my own fragrance in Grasse, France was incredible. It was wild to see first-hand how complicated and personal scent building is. I wanted something that I’d actually use in my own home, warm, inviting, and a little unexpected,” said Seth Rogen, co-founder of Houseplant, in a statement.
The diffuser holds its formula in a hand-blown crystal glass vessel and is rated for up to 90 days of continuous fragrance, positioning it as a slow-burn fixture rather than a quick refresh. Both vegan and cruelty-free, it is built to function as a sculptural object and a daily ritual in equal measure, leaning on Droplet’s attention to both the liquid and the container that carries it.
