Casually Explained Satirically Sums up Menswear
When jeans and a white shirt just won’t cut it anymore.
YouTube channel Casually Explained has now set his sights on breaking down, in a satirical manner, the unspoken truths of men’s fashion, while touching upon streetwear staple, Supreme. Going over business-casual, high-fashion, sneakerheads, normcore, palewave, all-black, goth-ninja and techwear, the video highlights the early beginnings of each category, and sheds light on how ridiculous they could appear to an outsider looking in.
The line that may resonates most with what we are currently seeing in the fashion landscape has to be “I know so much about fashion, that I am wearing something I know is un-fashionable because in order to identify something so un-fashionable, you would have to know a lot about fashion.” As unsettling and ironic as his explanation is, one can’t help but find some humor in the truth he speaks.
Watch the video above to find out more about what Casually Explained has to say about each category of styles and fashion subcultures. He also elaborates on a new genre he is currently working on starting — ‘comfcore.’
