A Closer Look Into the Collaborative "Moncler Genius" Collection
Featuring designers Craig Green, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Hiroshi Fujiwara and Simone Rocha.
Following the recent announcement of the Moncler Genius project, an initiative leveraging the talents of eight innovative designers including Pierpaolo Piccioli, Craig Green and Hiroshi Fujiwara, new images give a glimpse into the imminent themes to be explored by the selection of creators.
Through the project, Moncler uses a multitude of aesthetic tastes to its advantage — cultivating a theme of oneness through the nuanced perspectives of the individuals involved. This in turn ushers in dynamic pieces, creating a collection that “mirrors the uniqueness of the consumer.” Pierpaolo Piccioli strips the classic duvet to the clearest shape, Grenoble – Sandro Mandrino, Noir – Kei Ninomiya and Simone Rocha reissue floral ornamentation seen in their respective work, while Craig Green looks to continue his use of sculptural silhouettes with experimental proportions, and Fragment – Hiroshi Fujiwara references graphic embellishments as seen in his fragment design pieces. Moncler 1952 – curated by Karl Templer and PALM ANGELS – Francesco Ragazzi contribute to the collections as well with a new take.
