The duo swept the 2014 GRAMMYs with ‘The Heist.’

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis didn’t submit their latest album for contention in the 2017 GRAMMY Awards, according to AP. The duo swept the rap GRAMMYs in 2014, winning best rap album for The Heist, best rap song and rap performance for “Thrift Shop” and best new artist. However, the duo apologized to Kendrick Lamar afterwards for winning the best rap album award. A person close to the nomination process said on the condition of anonymity that the duo did not submit their latest album, This Unruly Mess I Made last September. Similarly, Frank Ocean didn’t submit his last two albums for GRAMMY contention.
