Kyrie Irving's "Uncle Drew" Alter Ego Hits the Big Screen With New Movie Trailer
Starring an All-Star roster.
Over time, Kyrie Irving has tapped into his “Uncle Drew” alter ego through a popular video series alongside Pepsi. Now that Irving has began a new chapter with the Boston Celtics, the unpredictable guard will officially make his way to the big screen via his “Uncle Drew” character.
The film pays homage to NYC’s streetball culture by placing “Uncle Drew” in the position of bridging the gap between the old and new generations of the sport. Starring the likes of Shaquille O’Neal, Nate Robinson, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller, Lisa Leslie and more, the Uncle Drew film is slated to combine comedy and sports into an experience enjoyable for all.
Expected to hit theaters on June 29, take a look at the first trailer for Uncle Drew above and let us know if you think it has the potential to go down as a classic basketball film. Recently, Kyrie did battle in a pair of SB-inspired Kyrie 4 “Yellow Lobsters” against LeBron and his former team.
