PUMA and Artist CJ Hendry Pay Homage to 50 Years of the Classic
Highlighting the iconic silhouette with a hyper-realistic portrait.
PUMA celebrates the golden jubilee of its heritage-basketball shoe, the SUEDE, with 50 drops. Tapping into the creative force of contemporary artist CJ Hendry, the German footwear brand utilizes her visual prowess for one of the expectant offerings. Known for her hyper-realistic renderings of luxury objects, Hendry uses a select few materials to create ornate large-scale drawings that exude life off the pages. These motifs are imbued into the piece she creates for the PUMA anniversary. Using only a pair of paint-dipped Classics — an allusion to the soon to be released golden 1968 stamped leather Classics — she captures the sneakers suspended in mid-air as a tribute to the footwear’s illustrious history.
