adidas has a handful of tennis court models that have stood the test of time (the Stan Smith and Superstar, for example) but another, more under-the-radar, retro icon is coming back from the ’70s: the Forest Hills model.

This classic silhouette was first released in 1976 and named after the Forest Hill US Open location in Queens, New York. At the time, features like its space-proven NASA insole and 246-gram cupsole were at the forefront of footwear technology, but it wasn’t until its feature in 2009 British cult film Awaydays that the retro model returned to the shelves with reverence in 2011.

Now, adidas Originals is reissuing the iconic Forest Hills model for 2018 in its original “Metallic Gold” colorway. This edition features a white leather upper, metallic yellow accents at the Three Stripes and heel tab, a bright yellow sole unit and a texturized toe cap in black.

You can pick up the adidas Originals Forest Hills “Metallic Gold” in March at select Three Stripes accounts like Terrace Tint for €100 EUR (about $123 USD). Let us know if you’re a fan of this retro pair and for more tennis models, check out the Reebok x Palace Workout.
