Charles Martinet Receives Guinness World Record for Voicing Nintendo's 'Mario'
Almost 25 years as Nintendo’s beloved mascot.
Guinness World Records have just awarded Charles Martinet with the award for voicing Nintendo‘s Mario character for an official 100th time. With over 25 years of voicing the mascot, Martinet received the award for his recent work on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Martinet’s work dates back to 1995 when he voiced Mario in Mario’s Game Gallery, but many will remeber his voice from Nintendo 64’s classic Super Mario 64 title from 1996. The video above from Guinness World Records not only goes over how Charles Martinet worked his way up to the “Most video game voiceover performances as the same character” award but also goes over the lesser known characters he has played throughout his lustrous career with Nintendo.
