Balenciaga is set to drop its first-ever eyewear silhouettes with Kering Eyewear. On par with Balenciaga’s recent store redesign, each of the sunglasses will be on display in custom-built glowing podiums alongside freestanding mirrored walls; these elements were taken directly from Balenciaga’s flagship stores, and its runway shows.
From the images, we can see that the new models take a contemporary approach to the cat-eye sunglass design, taking the lens elements past the temples, and back towards the ears. Available in the choice colors of fluorescent purple, sunburst, and grey, each pair features “Balenciaga” branding near the hinges and on the inside of the temples — each of the colored lenses are held together by a solid black frame.
Set for a Dover Street Market exclusive launch, taking place from January 2–9, each pair will be available to purchase for the first time in DSM: Tokyo, Los Angeles, New
York City, London, Singapore, and Beijing.
