Square Enix Removes Three Mobile Games From Belgium After Loot Box Ban
Some ‘Final Fantasy’ and ‘Kingdom Hearts’ games are affected.

Publisher Square Enix has made a number of games unavailable in Belgium after a loot box ban. The games affected are Mobius Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts Union X and Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia, all of which are amongst the most popular mobile titles for the company.
Square Enix said the new law was directly at fault for the removal, mentioning “the present uncertain legal status of ‘loot boxes’ under Belgian law.” Belgium has been one of the strongest advocates against loot boxes, ruling out the mechanics and citing games such as Overwatch, FIFA 18 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
