Kyrie Irving Gives Thanks to His Pops in New Nike Commercial

After a tough loss on Wednesday, one in which he responded to a reporter’s Happy Thanksgiving remark with ”F— Thanksgiving,” Kyrie Irving delivered a heartfelt tribute to his father in the above one-minute Nike spot. In it, the Boston Celtics guard talks about losing his mom, a descendant of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe, at a young, and thus his father had to put his hoop dreams on hold to raise his two children alone. “He sacrificed his dream, so I could live mine. He’s the reason I wear number 11; I want to be the reason no one else will.”
