Ariana Grande Takes Inspiration from 'Mean Girls' for "thank u, next" Video
Kris Jenner also makes an appearance.
At the beginning of this month, Ariana Grande shared a new single titled “thank u, next.” The song addressed her past boyfriends, including her past relationships with Mac Miller, Big Sean and Pete Davidson.
“Thought I’d end up with Sean, but it wasn’t a match. Wrote some songs about Ricky, now I listen and laugh. Even almost got married and for Pete, I’m so thankful. Wish I could say, ‘Thank you’ to Malcolm [Miller], ‘Cause he was an angel,’ Ariana Grande sings. ‘One taught me love/One taught me patience/And one taught me pain/Now, I’m so amazing/I’ve loved and I’ve lost/But that’s not what I see/So, look what I got/Look what you taught me.’
Now, as promised earlier this week, Ariana Grande has released the official “thank u, next” visual. As previously revealed, the Hannah Lux Davis-directed video takes its inspiration from Mean Girls. Today’s vignette also stars Kris Jenner, Colleen Ballinger, Jonathan Bennett, Stefanie Drummond, Elizabeth Gillies, Daniella Monet and others.
